One supporter greeted Republican
presidential candidate Rick Santorum at a campaign stop in Iowa.
According to The
Des Moines Register, Santorum's initial audience at a
restaurant stop in Hamlin (population 300) consisted of Audubon
County Republican Party Chair Peggy Toft.
By the time his lunch of tenderloin and
onion rings arrived, his audience had increased to four.
Santorum told them that the family and
religious liberty were threatened by the marriages of gay and lesbian
couples.
“This is where the Left is saying,
'Here is what your belief system should be, and anyone who does not
toe the line, you're a hater, you're a bigot, you're intolerant and
you will not be tolerated,” he said.
Santorum, a vocal opponent of LGBT
rights, won Iowa in 2012.
