Fallon Fox, the Mixed Martial Arts
(MMA) fighter who came out transgender in 2012, has applauded
Olympian Bruce Jenner's coming out transgender.
In a two-hour ABC News special
broadcast late last month, Jenner told Diane Sawyer that he
identifies as female.

“I wasn't ready for it, because of
how I was treated when I came out to tell my story,” Fox told The
Seattle Times of Jenner's interview. “It was inspiring, and it
gets people talking about transgender issues. That's what we need.”
Fox is among the athletes featured in
the documentary Game Face, which looks at the obstacles LGBT
athletes face throughout their careers. The film opened the 10th
annual Seattle Transgender Film Festival on Thursday.
“It feels like right now is our
time,” Fox
said. “What we're trying to do with Game Face is show
everybody the intersectionality of sport and how the oppression
transfers into the work force and everyday life.”
