Out singer-songwriter-dj Boy George
will be the subject of an upcoming reality series set to begin
shooting this summer.
Cameras will begin rolling when the UK
singer reaches Los Angeles.
“If Marge Simpson met Dolly Parton
and went dancing with Ziggy Stardust, it wouldn't come close to what
you'll see,” Boy George said in announcing the project.
“Why now – why not? Why me – who
else?” he added.
The 53-year-old Boy George is best
known as the front man for Culture Club, which is preparing to
release their first new material in 15 years. Tribes is set
for release in early 2015.
Benim/Murray Productions (BMP) is
behind the series.
“Boy George is a musical and cultural
icon, and it's about time someone captured his story,” BMP CEO Gil
Goldschein said. “We are experts in producing celeb-reality
docuseries, and we couldn't be more excited with the opportunity to
tell this story with the right broadcast partner.”
BMP is also behind such hit reality
series as Keeping Up With The Kardashians and The Real
World.
