Cabler Logo will air the first episodes
of the much-anticipated Cucumber and Banana from
Russell T. Davies, the man behind Doctor Who and Queer as
Folk, following the March 2 premiere of RuPaul's Drag Race.
The network said Friday that the shows
will have their official premieres on Monday, April 13 at 10PM.
“From RuPaul to Russell, Logo is
launching a powerhouse of premium programming on Monday nights that
will continue our trajectory as one of the fastest growing networks,”
Chris McCarthy, general manager of Logo, said in a statement. “With
Drag Race fans anxiously awaiting the kickoff of the new season,
we're giving Cucumber and Banana our biggest launching
pad to find and cultivate an audience in advance of its premiere in
April.”
The 8-episode hourlong Cucumber
follows Henry Best as his “old life shatters, and his new one
begins.”
Banana “will
follow the lives of [younger] characters orbiting around Henry” in
Cucumber. Eight episodes are
also planned for Banana,
each of which will run 30 minutes.
