TMZ Sports reported Monday that Michael Sam, the first openly gay player to be drafted by the NFL, will appearing on the 20th season of Dancing with the Stars.

“Michael Sam – I Just Signed!!! With 'Dancing with the Stars'” TMZ Sports tweeted.

According to HollywoodLife.com, other contestants include Chris Soules, Rumer Willis, Willow Shields, Redfoo, Lalah Hathaway, Savannah Chrisley and Robert Kennedy, Jr.

ABC is expected to officially announce the entire slate of contestants in the near future. The new season premieres March 16.

BleacherReport.com noted that the NFL's first ever veteran combine begins on March 22. Sam recently said that he was training to participate in the combine.

“[I]t's difficult to imagine a team signing [Sam] when he has other engagements on his plate,” the sports site pointed out.

UPDATE: ABC has confirmed that Sam will appear on the show.
