Former NSync member and Dancing with
the Stars alum Lance Bass will participate in a historic beach
wedding in Fort Lauderdale to celebrate Florida becoming the latest
state where gay couples can tie the knot.
100 couples, LGBT and straight, will
marry or renew their vows during a sunrise beach wedding on Thursday,
February 5.
The event will coincide with the airing
of the E! special Lance Loves Michael: The Lance Bass Wedding,
which documents Bass' recent California marriage to Michael Turchin.

As the event's official “Love is
Love” ambassador, Bass will welcome the couples on the beach and
speak during the event.
Couples marrying on Thursday made their
way to Florida via 18 states and three nations.
“Lance shares the same pioneering
spirit of advocating for LGBT equality that we embody here in Greater
Fort Lauderdale,” Nicki E. Grossman, president and CEO of the
Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau, which is
hosting the event, said in a statement. “We're thrilled to have
him be part of our historic moment on the same day he shares his own
personal wedding with the world.”
The 7 AM wedding, which takes place on
Fort Lauderdale beach, will be followed by a reception at the W Fort
Lauderdale.
