Brian Todd Collins, known as Kid Ink,
believes that hip hop would accept an openly gay rapper.
The 28-year-old Kid Ink was asked
whether a gay rapper would be accepted by the hip hop community
during a Larry King Now interview.
“Think we'll see a gay rapper?”
host Larry King asked.
“Yeah, I'm sure, maybe,” Kid Ink
answered. “It's a pretty open situation right now.”
“Do you think the community will
accept it?” King asked.
“Yeah. If the, you know, lyrics and
everything is acceptable to that urban community. I don't think, if
they go into it talking about areas and certain demographics and
places where it's really, you know what I'm saying.”
“I think it's still going to be
something that's going to have to break out to hip hop slowly,” he
added. (The video is embedded on this page. Visit

Kid Ink will release Full
Speed, his third studio album, on February 3.
