Executive producer Andrew Haigh has
promised that the second season of Looking will be bigger.
HBO will premiere Looking
following the return of comedy Girls, which heads into its
fourth season, and new series Togetherness, about “two
couples living under one roof on the fringes of Los Angeles” on Sunday, January 11.
In its
first season, Looking
introduced us to three gay men living in San Francisco, America's
most gay-friendly city.
Patrick (played by
Jonathan Groff) has come to the city to find love. His friends are
also looking for something. Dom (Murray Bartlett) is having a
mid-life crisis, while Agustin (Frankie J. Alvarez) struggles with
his relationship.
The show's first
season left off with two possible romantic interests for Patrick:
Richie (Raul Castillo) and Kevin (Russell Tovey).
“The first
episode [of the new season] is them being determined to spend more
time together and go away to Russian River, which is, like, two hours
outside San Francisco,” Haigh told Entertainment
Weekly. “It's this really beautiful, tranquil place along
the redwoods.”
“I feel like what
happens in the second season is we go deeper into the characters and
deeper into all the storylines,” said Barlett in a promotional clip
released last week.
“The fans should
expect us going further, digging deeper. It's the show but bigger,”
Haigh said. (The video is embedded on this page. Visit
