Pauley Perrette has described the
Supreme Court's recent decision on gay marriage as “weird and
good.”
In deciding against hearing appeals in
cases challenging marriage bans in five states, the Supreme Court
effectively legalized such unions in 11 states.
The 45-year-old Perrette, who is best
known for playing Abby Sciuto on the CBS crime drama NCIS,
spoke to Larry King about the high court's move.
“It was a very
interesting day, that day, and we were all kind of glued, all of us
civil rights activists together, like, texting about it. It was
like, 'Okay this is good and weird,'” she told King.
“I've just been a part of this
equality campaign for so long, and the last few years, especially
since Obama’s been in office, has been so fascinating for us.
We’ve made remarkable strides at such a fast pace.”
“But that still leaves all the rest
of those states where people are being discriminated against,” she
added.
