Cabler TV Land has picked up Impastor,
starring Michael Rosenbaum and Sara Rue.
According to Deadline,
TV Land ordered 10-episodes of the comedy to premiere in 2015.
In the show, Buddy Dobbs (played by
Rosenbaum), a swindler on the run from his debts, decides to hide out
in a small town by conning them into thinking he's their new pastor,
who also happens to be gay. Rue (Popular) plays church
assistant Dora.
Rosenbaum is best know for playing Lex
Luther on the CW's Smallville.
TV Land also ordered 10-episodes of
Teachers, which is based on the web series of the same name by
the improv group the Katydids.
“Impastor and Teachers
are perfect examples of the type of comedies we're looking for as TV
Land evolves its original series – innovative, unconventional, and
hilariously funny for an audience that enjoys smart humor with a hint
of heart,” said TV Land President Larry W. Jones.
