Actor Kevin McHale has joined the Human Rights Campaign's (HRC) Americans for Marriage Equality campaign.

In a 1-minute clip released Thursday, the 26-year-old McHale says he supports marriage equality because “two people in love should never be illegal.”

“For the last 6 years I've been lucky enough to work with the amazing cast and crew of Glee,” McHale says. “They've been like family throughout the entire journey and we've experienced everything together. Good times, lots of laughter and a ton of hard work.”

“Family to me is about surrounding yourself with loved ones and having them by your side no matter what happens. And committed gay and lesbian couples deserve to have their love, their relationships and their families recognized just like everyone else.”

“We need nationwide marriage equality now, because two people in love should never be illegal.” (The video is embedded on this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)

Singer Demi Lovato last month helped HRC relaunch its successful marriage campaign.
