In a campaign ad, Arizona gubernatorial
candidate Andrew Thomas promises to fight the “gay lobby” and
stop undocumented immigrants.
“Conservatives are backing Andrew
Thomas for governor because he's the only candidate who has stopped
illegal immigration, stood up to the gay lobby and opposed liberal
judges,” a male narrator says in the
30-second ad.
“When I enforced the law, illegal
immigrants fled the state,” Thomas says in the ad, a reference to a
stint as Maricopa County attorney, where he took a hard line against
immigration. “Now they stay and protest.”
“Vote Andrew Thomas for Governor.
Before it's too late,” the narrator says over a graphic of a
Mexican flag crossed out. (The video is embedded on this page.

Thomas is one of six candidates vying
for the GOP nomination for governor. Early voting is already
underway in Arizona. Polls show Thomas near the back of the pack.
Thomas was disbarred in 2012 after a
panel found him guilty of using his office to destroy his political
enemies.
