Daniel Baer, U.S. ambassador to the
Organization for Security & Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), married
his partner Brian Walsh on Saturday in Vienna, Austria.
According to the
Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation's largest LGBT rights
advocate, Baer and Walsh exchanged vows the surrounded by family and
friends, including HRC President Chad Griffin.
After the ceremony, Baer thanked
President Barack Obama, Secretary of State John Kerry and Hillary
Clinton, the former senator from New York, secretary of state and
first lady.
“So, I got married this morning.
Thank you @BarackObama, @HillaryClinton, & @JohnKerry for your
commitment to equality,” he tweeted to his more than 3,000
followers along with a photo from the wedding.
Baer was sworn in as ambassador in
September, 2013.
