CBS on Wednesday released a trailer for
the upcoming comedy The McCarthys.
The sitcom, scheduled to premiere
October 30, revolves around a close-knit sports-crazed Boston family.
In the pilot, Ronny (played by Tyler Ritter), who is openly gay,
attempts to spend less time with his family in order to improve his
dating life.
Ronny shares a disinterest in sports
with his mother, Marjorie (Laurie Metcalf), who clearly favors Ronny
over his siblings.
Ronny's plans to move to Rhode Island
change when his politically incorrect father, Arthur (Jack McGee), a
dedicated high school basketball coach, chooses him as his new
assistant over his other more qualified, sports-minded children.
