Two-time Grammy Award-winner Kacey Musgraves performed at Saturday's GLAAD Media Awards in New York City.

Musgraves is the first country music star to perform at the annual event, now in its 25th year.

The 25-year-old Musgraves performed her hit single Follow Your Arrow, in which she encourages fans to “love who you love.”

“I am so proud to be here representing country music and I just want to [say] cheers [to] everybody in this room that follows their arrow,” Musgraves told the crowd before performing. (The video is embedded on this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)

Musgraves' gay-inclusive single riled Christian conservative pastor Kevin Swanson, who claimed earlier this month that she would have faced a lynch mob for performing Follow Your Arrow in a country bar any time between the 1880s and the 1960s.
