ANZ Bank outed its ATM banking machines for the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

The 36th annual parade, which began as a protest march to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Riots in New York, included 114 floats, several of which poked fun at Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The colorful parade – now one of the world's most celebrated and lavish gay parties – runs along Sydney's main Oxford Street artery.

To celebrate this year's party, ANZ turned ATMs in central Sydney into dazzling GAYTMs.

While each machine makeover has its own personality, they're all inspired by gay and lesbian culture.

“From unicorns and drag queens to rainbows and tattoos, each GAYTM is a riot of colour and textures to celebrate the festival and show ANZ's support for diversity,” the bank said in an emailed statement.

To complete the experience, the GAYTMs dispense rainbow colored receipts. (A behind-the-scenes video of the transformations is embedded on this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)
