NBC has canceled Sean Saves The
World, the Thursday night sitcom starring Sean Hayes.
According
to Deadline, the series stopped production on Tuesday.
NBC has broadcast 12 of the 14 episodes
shot. The network originally ordered 18 episodes.
“Along with fellow Thursday newbie
comedy, The Michael J. Fox Show, and the entire NBC Thursday
comedy block, Sean Saves The World has struggled in the
ratings, most recently logging a 0.7 rating in adults 18-49,”
Deadline wrote in reporting
the show's end.
Sean Saves The World starred
Sean Hayes – who is best know for playing Jack McFarland, Will
Truman's campy gay best friend, for 8 seasons on NBC's groundbreaking
sitcom Will & Grace – as
an openly gay divorced dad juggling a teenage daughter (played by
Samantha Isler) and an overbearing mother (Linda Lavin). Thomas
Lennon (Reno 911!) played Max, Sean's eccentric boss.
