Christian conservative Bryan Fischer
has come to the defense of a Colorado baker who refused to sell a
wedding cake to a gay couple, claiming that he's the victim of a
“secular inquisition.”
Last week, a judge told Jack Phillips
that he must serve all customers regardless of sexual orientation or
face fines. The “cease and desist” order came after Phillips,
the owner of suburban Denver-based Masterpiece Cakeshop, refused to
consider baking a cake for a Denver wedding reception to celebrate
the Massachusetts marriage of Dave Mullins and Charlie Craig.

On his AFA-sponsored Focal Point
radio program, Fischer insisted that Phillips was the victim.
“Our secular theocrats have found
this man guilty of heresy, guilty of idolatry, guilty of blasphemy,
because he will not agree to the dogma of the secular theocrats,”
Fischer
told his audience. “He is a heretic and he must be punished
just like the Spanish Inquisition did for those that went astray from

During an appearance on Fox News,
Phillips vowed to go to jail before selling a wedding cake to a gay
couple.
