Police in Moscow arrested a small group
of activists protesting Russia's campaign against LGBT people.
According to Russian site Grani.ru,
six activists marched through the Russian capital on Sunday carrying
a banner which read: “Hitler also began with the gays. No to
fascism in Russia.”
The activists were protesting two
recently enacted laws and a proposed law which seeks to deem gay men
and lesbians unfit to parent. Russia's “gay propaganda” law,
enacted in June, prohibits the public promotion of gay rights to
minors. Its passage has provoked worldwide protests and calls for a
boycott of the upcoming Winter Olympics in Sochi.
