The couple who attracted national attention with a homecoming kiss last year married in New York on Friday.

A photo of Brandon Morgan leaping into Dalan Wells' arms for a kiss as Morgan returned home from a six-month deployment in Afghanistan received thousands of comments and likes after it was posted on the Gay Marines Facebook page.

In June, the couple posted a video on YouTube of Morgan's proposal.

In the 40-second clip, Wells and Morgan are seen dining in a restaurant as Wells expresses surprise that an unseen couple is marrying after dating less than a year.

“Well, with that,” Morgan says, getting up from the table.

“Nooooo,” a surprised Wells says.

On bended knee, Morgan asks, “Dalan Wells will you do me the honor of spending your life with me?”

Wells immediately agrees and the two share a hug and kiss.

Blogger Kyle Crawford posted photos of the couple as they exchanged vows in front of family and friends. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Dahn Gandell of St. John's Episcopal Church in Honeoye Falls, New York. Wells' parents attend the church. After the ceremony, Gandell hosted a luncheon for the wedding party at Next Door Bar and Grill.
