Christopher Doyle, president of the "ex-gay" group Voice of the
Voiceless, has asserted that there is “no gay brain.”
Doyle appeared on the Christian Broadcast Network (CBN) to discuss
a press conference held Wednesday on the steps of the Supreme Court
seeking federal protection for former gays, or “ex-gays.”
“There's no gay gene, there's no gay brain, there's no gay
hormones and so when we know [that] people aren't born gay, then
essentially change is possible. And ex-gays like myself and
thousands of them out across the country are living proof of that.
And today, I'm living my dream, and it's my privilege to help men and
women come out of homosexuality through the International Healing
Foundation, of which I'm a psychotherapist and director of,” Doyle
said on CBN News.
He also stated that other “Ex-Gay” Pride Month events had to
be scrapped due to threats of violence his group had received.
At Wednesday's press conference, about 10 people took turns at a
podium as others held placards that read, “Justice Kennedy –
Protect Ex-Gays!”
“I have been free of the obsession, the compulsion of same-sex
attraction for over 40 years,” Douglas McIntyre of Homosexuals
Anonymous said.
“I have suffered more discrimination and intolerance as an
'ex-gay' than I did when I was actually in the lifestyle,” said
Grace Harley of Jesus is the Answer Ministry. “Many 'ex-gays' are
afraid to come out of the closet because of the harassment we
receive.”
Chuck Peters of Voice of the Voiceless ended his remarks with a
little chant.
“Heterophobic gay activists will stop at nothing to attack
'ex-gays,'” Peters said during his turn at the podium. “They are
anti-diversity and anti-pro choice. Why can't I choose who I love?
I'm an 'ex-gay' and out and proud. I'm so grateful that I did not
listen to the bigoted gay activists and instead listened to real
science and my own inner truth, that is that I'm 'ex-gay.' My name
is Chuck Peters and I'm an 'ex-queer' and proud 'ex-gay.'”
“Hip hip hooray for 'ex-gays.' Hip hip hooray for 'ex-gays.'
Hip hip hooray for 'ex-gays'!” he chanted. (The video is embedded

Also attending the press conference were “ex-gay” activists

Richard Cohen of the International Healing Foundation.
