Neil Patrick Harris is worried about his upcoming drag role in the rock musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

Harris will return to Broadway next year in the show's starring role.

In an appearance on TBS' Conan, Harris told host Conan O'Brien that he'll go to work on Hedwig “as soon as How I Met Your Mother season 9 wraps up.”

“This is a transgender role,” O'Brien stated.

“Yes, you're playing a transgendered German rock-pop singer,” Harris answered. “And, ah, so I'm going to have to be, like, all dragged out for the whole run of the show. And it deals with the whole thing and I'm freaking out. How do you prepare for that?”

“Well, let me tell you,” O'Brien quipped. “You have come to the right place.”

“It's very transformative. The drag thing is not supposed to be shocking, it's well beyond that. And it's a rock monologue essentially.”

“I'm more worried about the eyebrows than having to tape my wiener down with duct tape,” Harris told Conan.

“Again,” O'Brien joked, “you've come to the right place.” (The video is embedded on this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)
