Actor Russell Brand says he once masturbated a man to orgasm on a television show.

The 38-year-old Brand made his comments during an appearance on HuffPost Live.

When host Josh Zepps asked whether Brand had been mistaken for being gay, Brand responded, “Often.”

“I did once, for a television program, when I was a crack and heroin addict … I once masturbated a man to the point of orgasm in a public bathroom. But it was for a television program,” Brand said.

Zepps noted that that behavior is more in line with a closeted straight man.

“Yeah, I was homophobic. But I wasn't homophobic, I was just young and on drugs. … It just happened to be in a bathroom 'cause I couldn't find another gay man to do it. You know, we need someone who is going to let us film him for heaven's sakes. So obviously, you're picking from a particular strata of society once you make the decision to film it.”

“I must say, it wasn't for me,” Brand said. “I didn't really enjoy it.”

“For me, this is not the arena for morality. It's something that exists in nature and is not harmful to people who are vulnerable and let it go.” (The video is embedded on this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)
