Country music singer Chely Wright and
her wife Lauren Blitzer-Wright on Saturday welcomed identical twin
sons into their home.
According to PEOPLE, the boys were
named after their great grandfathers George Samuel and Everett
Joseph.
Chely thanked family, friends and the
staff of New York-Presbyterian Hospital for their support.
“We are grateful for all the amazing
medical care and the love and support of family and friends,” the
42-year-old Chely told PEOPLE.
On Friday, Lauren tweeted:
“@nyphospital thank you for the wonderful care. Amazing nurses and
doctors. @chelywright and I are grateful.”
“We are so in love with George &
Everett!” she added on Monday.
Chely, who carried the babies,
announced the sex of the twins on cabler Current's Say Anything.
“They're due in July but with
identical twins you typically have to deliver a month early,” Chely
said in announcing her pregnancy in January.
Chely came out gay in 2010 and married
Lauren the following year in Connecticut.
