Actor Daniel Radcliffe says he was
given “step-by-step” direction while filming a steamy gay sex
scene in the film Kill Your Darlings.
Radcliffe (Harry Potter) plays
gay beat generation poet Allen Ginsberg in John Krokidas' thriller
Kill Your Darlings, which premiered in January at the Sundance
Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
In an appearance on the BBC's The
Graham Norton Show, Radcliffee told host Graham Norton that
Krokidas gave him “step-by-step instructions.”
“I was doing a gay sex scene and the
director [Krokidas] was giving me step-by-step instructions,”
Radcliffe
said. “And the favorite note I have ever had was when we were
kissing and the director shouted, 'Not like that. Crazy sex
kissing!'”
Earlier, Radcliffe told E!
Online that Krokidas put him at ease while filming the scene.
“It was something new,” he said.
“But you know what? We shot that whole scene in maybe an hour and
a half so it was incredibly fast-paced. I didn't really have time to
stop to think and worry about it.”
“John was very helpful in furnishing
me with a lot of graphic detail of what I would be experiencing at
the various stages,” he added with a laugh.
