Lynda Topp and her bride, Donna Luxton, grace the cover of the New Zealand edition of Woman's Day, the publication's first gay wedding cover.

Lynda Topp and her twin, Jools Topp, are known as the folk singing and activist sister comedy duo the Topp Twins. Both are openly lesbian.

Lynda Topp and Donna Luxton tied the knot at the Topp Lodge, which they own, located in the small New Zealand town of Staveley on March 9.

The wedding was “a true country hoe-down with cowboy hats, boots and plaid shirts alongside the bridal bouquet and wedding cake,” the weekly wrote. “A miniature pony played ringbearer, trotting down the aisle to Shania Twain's classic You're Still The One.”

While New Zealand is expected to approve a gay marriage bill within the next month, the island nation currently recognizes gay and lesbian couples with civil unions.

“Let's get one thing straight, this is not a civil union – it's a marriage,” Topp said. “We just happen to be a little ahead of everybody.”
