Jesse Tyler Ferguson believes his Modern Family character, Mitchell, will marry his television partner, Cameron (played by Eric Stonestreet), once California legalizes gay marriage.

In an appearance on Larry King Now, Ferguson agreed with host Larry King that the script would be hilarious.

“You know what, they live in the real world. When the iPad came out, Phil wanted the iPad. So, I think when marriage equality is legal in California I can only imagine that, you know ...”

“The wedding will be hysterical,” King said.

“Please. One hour special – I'm calling it now,” Ferguson responded. (The video is embedded on this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)

The notion of a wedding featuring two men raising a daughter on America's most popular sitcom would ruffle some feathers among social conservatives. A recent survey found that the show reaches a broad bipartisan demographic.
