During an appearance on ABC's The View, comedian Joan Rivers poked fun at John Travolta and discussed kissing a woman.

The kiss happened during the third-season premiere of cabler WE's Joan and Melissa: Joan Knows Best?

On the reality show, at the prompting of her daughter, Rivers, 79, agreed to attend a dinner party thrown by Lily Tomlin, where she met Shirl. The women kissed on their second date.

“You know, lesbianism has been around for a long time – Susan B. Anthony, the 'b' stood for bush, you know. The only difference is now I have found that I am douching in Gatorade. But otherwise, I don't feel any different,” Rivers said.

When asked how she feels about her mother kissing another woman, Melissa Rivers answered: “I have no problem with this. But I already have a lot to explain to my son about grandma's eccentricities.”

Mother and daughter live together on the reality program, which led Joan Rivers to quip: “You know, with two women in the house, there's a lot of screaming and yelling. I mean, just ask Kelly Preston and John Travolta.” (The video is embedded on this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)
