Singer Frenchie Davis performed over
the weekend at the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force's 25th
National Conference on LGBT Equality in Atlanta.
The five-day conference, titled
Creating Change, is the largest annual gathering of activists,
organizers and leaders in the gay rights movement.

The 33-year-old Davis, a contestant on
the first season of NBC's talent contest The Voice, publicly
came out gay last year in an interview with the St. Louis
Post-Dispatch.
At Creating Change, Davis
performed Love's Got a Hold on Me, her first single from her
debut album.
“It's so wonderful to see all the
young people here,” she told the crowd. “You all are the reason
that I chose to be out. Because it is important that you see people
in the public eye who are not ashamed of who they are. It is okay to
be true to you. And you don't have to apologize to any
mother-fucking-body.” (The video is embedded on this page. Visit
