Country music singer Chely Wright and
her wife Lauren Blitzer on Wednesday announced they are pregnant with
identical twins.
In an appearance on Gwissues
with Howard Bragman, Wright said she was carrying the babies.
“We are expecting,” Wright said.
“We are pregnant.”
“Coming to you live this summer,
probably sometime in June,” Blitzer said.
“They're due in July but with
identical twins you typically have to deliver a month early,”
Wright explained. “So, we're anticipating that I will be as big as
a Privo bus or a-frame house by around June.”
“It's been an amazing educational
experience for sure,” the women said.
Blitzer described the experience as a
“really cool adventure.”
“We're excited to be parents,”
Wright said. “We hope we don't mess it up too badly. But we can
do it. And we feel like God blessed us with twins. We tried really
hard to not have twins.”
“But we apparently needed to have

Wright came out gay in 2010 and married
Blitzer the following year in Connecticut.
