Liberty Counsel Chairman Mat Staver
believes gay activists are on a mission to “abolish morality.”
Liberty Counsel in representing the
National Association for Research & Therapy of Homosexuality
(NARTH) has successfully blocked California from enforcing its
first-in-the-nation ban on “ex-gay” therapy to minors.
Governor Jerry Brown last week appealed
the court injunction which puts the law on hold until a three-judge
panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals can hear
NARTH's legal challenge.
Appearing recently on the Faith and
Freedom radio program, Staver warned that the law ought to serve
as a “wake-up call to America.”
“On the one hand, they [gay
activists] acknowledge the fluidity of same-sex sexual attractions,”
Staver
said. “That it's not something that you're going to be
permanently locked into. On the other hand, politically they want to
give the impression that that's the way it is so that they can push
their agenda. And once they get their view enshrined into law, like
in this law here, they will then use it to ultimately abolish
marriage, abolish morality and punish anyone who does not agree and
affirm and promote their idea. I mean, that's exactly what's
happening here. This is a wake-up call to America.” (The audio is
