Pastor Sam Morris told his Old Paths
Baptist Church congregation on Sunday that a shooting massacre in
Connecticut was the result of schools teaching kids “how to be
homo.”
Gunman Adam Lanza, 20, on Friday forced
his way into Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut and
killed 26 people, including 20 children, before taking his own life.
Morris told his Fayetteville, Tennessee
flock: “Why do you still send your kids to the governmental
schools? What's behind this shooting that we saw on Dec. 14 in
Newtown, Connecticut and the other ones like it? What's going on.
Well, number one, deception. … I got news for you, when you kicked
God out of schools, you're going to be judged for that.”
“When I got in high school, man, I
started learning all this kingdom, phylum stuff, all this junk about
evolution. And I want to tell you what evolution teaches, here's the
bottom line, that you're an animal. That's what it teaches. So,
you're an animal, you can act like an animal. Amen.”
“So, here you are, you're an animal
and you're a god! So, what are we going to teach you about in
school? Well, we can teach you about sex, we can teach you how to
rebel to you parents, we can teach you how to be a homo! But we're
definitely not going to teach you about the word of God! Amen.”
Progressive radio host David Pakman
commented: “Let me see if I'm following this. God hates gay people
so much that in spite of never mentioning homosexuality in the Ten
Commandments, he would have a shooter mow down a bunch of innocent
kids just to show how upset he was that someone in a different
school, somewhere else in the country is trying to teach children to
be respectful to homosexuality and the children of homosexuals as
they should be to everybody else. … [Morris] is talking about a
very evil god. … The Devil seems to be on vacation.” (The video
