Busy Philipps is the latest celebrity
to join the Human Rights Campaign's (HRC) Americans for Marriage
Equality campaign.
“My husband and I are raising our
daughter Birdie to live by the Golden Rule to treat others the way
you wish to be treated. I feel like as Americans we should apply
that to all aspects of life, including marriage,” Philipps says in
the 30-second video released Thursday.
“Gay and lesbian couples just want
the same rights that we all have, nothing more and nothing less,”
she adds. (The video is embedded on this page. Visit
our video library for more videos.)
The 33-year-old Philipps is best known
for her supporting roles on the television series Freaks and Geeks
and Dawson's Creek. She currently plays Laurie Keller on the
ABC sitcom Cougar Town.
