MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts and his new
husband Patrick Abner are among those making gay glossy Out's
Out 100 list.
Roberts, 39, and Abner, of Merck
Pharmaceuticals' HIV/AIDS division, tied the knot in a Manhattan
rooftop wedding after being together 12 years. The couple announced
their engagement via Twitter on June 25, 2011, one day after gay
marriage was legalized in New York.
The handsome couple holds hands while
suited up in tuxes in their Out
photo.
“I never imagined in a million years
that I would be on a stage kissing my male partner, spouse –
husband, Thomas is saying – in front of my father,” Abner said
during the ceremony. “And to be able to do that and have not just
my father but my whole family be proud of me? That's something
special.”
The wedding also appeared to have an affect on Good Morning America weather anchor Sam Champion, who
announced his own upcoming wedding to photographer Rubem Robierb at
the party, marking the first time he has publicly addressed his
sexual orientation.
