Chris Kluwe gets a visit from the
government over his support for gay marriage in a new ad from
Minnesota Equality.
Kluwe, a 30-year-old punter for the
Minnesota Vikings, has become an outspoken supporter of marriage
equality and an ardent opponent of a proposed amendment to the
Minnesota Constitution defining marriage as a heterosexual union.
In the 30-second ad released Wednesday,
Kluwe's advocacy gets him in trouble with the government.
“Did you call an elected official a
lustful cockmonster?” a government official asks Kluwe.
“No, I said he wouldn't turn into a
lustful cockmonster if gay people could get married,” Kluwe
responds.
When Kluwe says Americans have the
right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, the officials
say they are changing the Constitution.
“You can't do that?” Kluwe
protests.
“Yes we can. We just have to trick
enough people into agreeing with us. Now say yes.”
“No,” Kluwe responds. “Not going
to do it.” (The audio is embedded on this page. Visit
