Singer Ricky Martin cites President
Barack Obama's gay marriage support in endorsing his re-election.
“I'm standing with President Obama
because he believes his family and mine are more alike than
different,” the openly gay Martin says in a 48-second video for the
Obama campaign. “He supports my right to be who I am and marry the
person I love. And the right of all of us to live our lives openly.”
Martin came out gay in his 2010
autobiography Me. He is also raising twin sons Valentino and
Matteo, who are 4 years old.
“As a parent, I'm especially thankful
that the president is working to end bullying because no one should
be afraid to walk down the street holding hands with the person they
love,” says Martin.
“President Obama has earned my
support,” he adds. (The video is embedded on this page. Visit

In
another video, openly gay celebrities Jane Lynch, Zachary Quinto
and Wanda Sykes also express their support for the president.
