British singer-songwriter Mika on
Thursday released a sampler of his much anticipated third studio
album The Origin of Love.
The 28-year-old Mika's 2007 Life in
Cartoon Motion spawned six singles, helping it become the ninth
best-selling album in the world that year. His much anticipated 2009
follow up, The Boy Who Knew Too Much, produced three singles:
We Are Golden, Blame It on the Girls, and
Rain.
In anticipation of the new album, Mika
has released videos for the tracks Make You Happy and
Celebrate (featuring Pharrell Williams).
Mika came out gay and talked about his
relationship for the first time in the September issue of gay glossy
Instinct.
“If you ask me am I gay, I say yeah.
Are these songs about my relationship with a man? I say yeah. And
it's only through my music that I've found the strength to come to
terms with my sexuality beyond the context of just my lyrics. This
is my real life,” Mika
said.
The Origin of Love includes 13
new songs and arrives on October 16. (The audio sampler is embedded
