Police in Salt Lake City are searching
for 3 men suspected of throwing flaming projectiles onto the outdoor
deck of a gay bar on Thursday.
Several of the flaming devices were
thrown over JAM's wooden fence and into a crowd of about 30 to 40
people, ABC News 4 reported.
“So we had at least 30 to 40 people
here,” Fernando Noriega, a witness, told the news network. “All
the sudden we saw something bright. I thought they were fireworks on
the floor.”
Noriega called the devices flares but
firefighters were unable to identify them.
“Out of a group of 30 people, all of
those flares to be be hitting at the same time we don't know how,
everyone was very lucky,” he told ABC
News 4, referring to the fact that nobody was injured.
Witnesses described the suspects, who
quickly took off in a dark red Pontiac Grand Am, as white males in
their late teens to early twenties.
