Gay marriage foe the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) is calling for a weekly demonstration in support of Chick-Fil-A.

The move comes two weeks after Fox News' Mike Huckabee organized Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day to show support for CEO Dan Cathy, who had been criticized for saying that gay marriage is “inviting God's judgment on our nation.” Cathy also conceded that his company gave millions to groups which oppose gay marriage, support therapies aimed at “curing” gay people, and advocate the criminalization of gay relationships.

“Because of the groundbreaking significance of Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day – and because the attacks on Dan Cathy and his freedom to speak out in defense of marriage aren't going away – we're calling on all supporters of marriage, free speech and religious liberty to make every Wednesday a 'Chick-Fil-A Wednesday!'” NOM President Brian Brown announced in a blog post.

Brown called on conservatives to patronize the eateries every Wednesday through the remainder of the year.

“The attacks on Dan Cathy and Chick-Fil-A aren't going away,” Brown said. “And we will continue to stand strong in solidarity with anyone who feels pressured by the gay marriage bullies.”

NOM has previously called on supporters to “dump” Starbucks and General Mills for their support for marriage equality.
