Actor Matt Bomer and his partner,
Hollywood publicist Simon Halls, are to be honored in October for
their support of LGBT youth.
Bomer, star of USA Network's White
Collar and a co-star of the male stripper film Magic Mike,
officially came out gay last February when he thanked Halls and their
three children for their love and continued support in accepting an
award for his HIV/AIDS advocacy in Palm Springs.
The couple will be honored by The Gay,
Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN) at the group's
eighth annual Respect Awards in Beverly Hills, according to The
Hollywood Reporter.
“Both Matt and I are incredibly
impressed by the great work that GLSEN does for kids who might
normally not have somewhere to turn,” Halls
said. “Even in this day and age, LGBT kids still need all the
support that we can give them. We are both very humbled to be
receiving this honor.”
