Amtrak's Ride with Pride advertising campaign targets gay and lesbian families.

The national passenger rail company's campaign features two dads traveling with their son in one ad and two moms in a second under the caption “Priceless family moments are now affordable.” It is the first time Amtrak has included gay families in its advertising.

“Kids age 2-15 ride for half-off,” the ad offers.

Amtrak's Ride with Pride campaign was also a sponsor of Capital Pride, Washington D.C.'s annual Gay Pride festival, where Amtrak gave away travel prize packages to four lucky winners.

Winners Aaron and Marc won a Chicago destination.

“What an amazing weekend we had as Amtrak 'Ride with Pride' contest winners. The weekend started bright and early on Saturday morning for my boyfriend Aaron and me, the train from Indianapolis to Chicago was scheduled to leave at 6am. Being the first ride on Amtrak for both of us, we weren't sure what to expect. The Coach cars were very nice and roomy and we loved the fact that we could get up and move around. The Lounge car was an added bonus as you can see from our photo,” Marc wrote at Amtrak's Ride with Ride website.

“Our hotel was the Hotel Palomar, it is a newer trendy hotel located steps from Chicago's Michigan Avenue and the world class shopping there. The Grand Avenue Subway Station was on the same block as the hotel was, so getting up to Boystown and the pride festival and parade was amazingly easy. Aaron and I both have been to Chicago several times but never to Chicago Pride. It was easily the largest Pride Parade we had ever seen. Thank you Amtrak for a great Pride Weekend!”
