Actor and comedian D.L Hughley has come out against Chick-Fil-A's stance against gay marriage.

The 49-year-old Hughley appeared Tuesday on ABC's The View to pitch his controversial new book I Want You to Shut the F**ck Up: How the Audacity of Dopes is Running America.”

Hughley told Barbara Walters that he used a four-letter word in title of a book about what's wrong with America because “that's how I talk.”

“It's kind of tongue-in-cheek. Like every time you see somebody on television you don't agree with one of things you shout at the TV is that very thing,” he said. “In this country you get to make your own truth. You listen to the people that kind of reaffirm what you want to believe and you won't listen to anybody else.

Hughley added that he was torn by the recent Chick-Fil-A controversy because “I love that Chick-Fil-A sandwich and I'm opposed to their stance on gay marriage.”

“So … I'll get the chicken but not the bun in protest,” he said. (The video is embedded in the right panel of this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)
