Former Alaska Governor and 2008 vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and her husband Todd Palin on Saturday tweeted support for Chick-Fil-A.

Sarah Palin tweeted out a picture of herself and Todd Palin from inside a Chick-Fil-A store. Both are smiling as they clutch several Chick-Fil-A takeout bags and Sarah is giving the thumbs up.

“Stopped by Chick-fil-A in The Woodlands to support a great business,” Sarah tweeted to her more than 800,000 followers.

The move comes as the nation debates Chick-Fil-A President Dan Cathy's admission two weeks ago that his company supports groups opposed to gay marriage and his comment that gay marriage is “inviting God's judgment on our nation.” Between 2003 and 2010, Chick-Fil-A gave nearly $5 million to groups opposed to gay rights, according to Equality Matters.

Within hours of its release, the Palins' Chick-Fil-A photo generated more than 260,000 likes on Facebook.

Responses ranged from “You guys rock” and “Keep up the good work” to “You get extra homophobe sauce on your sandwich?” and “Publicity stunt, how shameless.”
