Chloe Sevigny has said she felt
insecure wearing a prosthetic penis on the set of the UK drama Hit
& Miss.
Hit & Miss, the first
original series commissioned by recently-launched satellite channel
Sky Atlantic in Britain, had its US premiere on DIRECTV's
Audience Network on Wednesday, July 11.
The 37-year-old Sevigny plays Mia in
the 6-episode series from creator Paul Abbott (Shameless, State of
Play). Mia finds out she fathered a son eleven years earlier and
her former girlfriend is dying from cancer.
In an interview with gay glossy Out,
Sevigny said she is not liked in Hollywood.
“Hollywood does not know what to do
with me,” she said. “They do not like me. That's why I end up
in these seemingly difficult movies. That's what is offered to me,
and I need to make a living.”
She added that she felt insecure filming
nude scenes while wearing a prosthetic penis.
“Being around the men on set, being
naked, and having that on, I just felt insecure and uncomfortable.
Plus the process to put it on was very involved. I had to shave
myself, it's glued on, painted, like a prosthetic. It's not fun to
have someone right up in your private parts,” she said.
“[I]t's not gratuitous,” she
offered. “It shouldn't be a show about a fucking penis.”
