Kirk Cameron is being promoted as a “champion of marriage” by the National Organization for Marriage, the nation's most vociferous opponent of marriage equality.

In a video for NOM's Marriage Anti-Defamation Alliance (MADA), Cameron is introduced by Damian Goddard.

Cameron has “been persecuted by the mainstream media, mercilessly subjected to an unreasonable amount of scrutiny,” Goddard tells viewers.

Goddard is referring to the firestorm of controversy Cameron created in March when he appeared on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight and said that being gay is “unnatural” and “detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization” and that he would not be supportive if one of his six sons told him he was gay.

Cameron himself did not revisit the episode in the 4-minute video, opting instead to pitch his Christian-based marriage seminar, Love Worth Fighting For, and films. (The video is embedded in the right panel of this page. Visit our video library for more videos.)
