Pastor Terry Jones of the Dove World
Outreach Center in Gainesville, Florida has hung President Barack
Obama in effigy along with a Gay Pride flag in front of his church.
In a video posted on YouTube, Jones
explained that he was responding to Obama's endorsement of gay
marriage and his “appeasing of radical Islam.”
“Obama is killing our nation,” he
said. “President Obama's policies on same-sex marriage, his
policies on abortion.”
“It's time for the United States to
stand up. It is why we have chosen the hanging of Uncle Sam to
represent how Hussein Obama is destroying our nation. And that is
why we have now chosen the hanging of Hussein Obama to represent how
the American people must, in a peaceful way, stand up and reject
President Obama, reject his anti-American policies. It's time for us
to stand up.” (The video is embedded in the right panel of this

Jones attracted world-wide attention in
2010 when he threatened to burn Korans on the anniversary of the
September 11 terror attacks.
Also in 2010, the church vociferously
opposed Gainesville Mayor Craig Lowe, who is openly gay, by erecting
a sign on its property which read “No Homo Mayor” and producing
several videos attacking Lowe.
