Estonian recording artist Kerli will
perform at this weekend's 42nd annual Boston Gay Pride
Week 2012.
The 25-year-old Kerli will take the
festival's City Hall Plaza stage on Saturday, June 9.
Also scheduled to perform are Alexis
Jordan and Rye Rye.
“We are thrilled to have Alexis
Jordan, Rye Rye and Kerli headline our festival this year,” Linda
DeMarco, president of Boston Pride, told gay weekly Edge
Boston. “These young women are all breaking through on the
music scene as we speak, and we know that they will put on a great
show here in Boston.”
Other musical acts include Mod Gun,
Grygiel, Mob Music, Sabrina Blaze, Lauren Bateman Band, Aerochix,
Ariel Aparicio and Justin Utley.
After her performance last year at San
Francisco Gay Pride, Kerli told an NBC reporter covering the event:
“It feels like a celebration. And there's just so much love
around. Because people that come here have a certain quality of
freedom about them, or supporting freedom. So, I feel very at home.”
