Gayle King has said she would legalize
gay marriage if she were president.
The 57-year-old King recently joined
CBS This Morning as a co-anchor.
At last weekend's The Hollywood
Reporter/Google pre-party to the White House Correspondent's
Association Dinner, King was asked what law she would pass if she were
president for 10 minutes.
“I personally like same-sex marriage
for everybody in every state,” she said, then added she would also
back a law increasing the driving age from 16 to 18. (The video is

Jesse Tyler Ferguson also answered
that he would legalize marriage for gay couples if he were
president. Ferguson, who is openly gay, portrays Mitchell Pritchett,
a gay lawyer who is raising an adopted daughter with his partner on
the Wednesday night ABC sitcom Modern Family.
Eric Stonestreet, who plays opposite
Ferguson on the comedy, gave a more nuanced answer to the question:
“Equality for everybody. I would say we need to figure out a law
that makes everybody feel as though they have the same shot at
everything that everyone else has in the United States. … Everybody
needs to feel like they're an equal person in our society.”
