Los Angeles police are searching for
three men in connection with the beating of a gay man in Hollywood, The
Los Angeles Times reported.
The unidentified man reported to police
that he was attacked near the intersection of Cahuenga Boulevard and
Yucca Street early Sunday morning.
Sargent Sal Ogaz of the Los Angeles
Police Department's Hollywood Division said the man was approached by
three assailants around 1:30AM.
The three men asked the man whether he
was gay. He answered yes and the men attacked. They fled the scene
when a witness intervened, Ogaz said.
The man was being treated at a nearby
hospital. Ogaz said he did not believe he was seriously injured.
“It's really sad. These attacks
happen way too often in our society,” Jake Finney of the Los
Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center told ABC affiliate KABC. “There's
no signs of hate violence against gay, lesbian, bisexual or
