Donald Trump Jr., the son of real
estate mogul and gay marriage opponent Donald Trump, has come out in
support of marriage equality.
The 34-year-old Trump Jr. is the child
of Trump and first wife Ivana Trump. He currently serves as the
executive vice president of The Trump Organization.
When asked by The
Six Pack co-hosts DJ Ben Harvey and comedian Dave Rubin
whether he is in favor of gay nuptials, Trump Jr. answered: “I'm
totally for it. One of my best friends growing up was gay. It's
never been an issue for me.”
“I think there was a time in my life,
probably in college, that I wished every guy was gay because it meant
more women for me! I don't know what everyone's problem with it is.
I wish everyone was gay! That's the way I thought about it. I have
no issue with it.”
“If I have to suffer through
marriage, why shouldn't they?” he asked.
Trump Jr. also confirmed that his
father had met with George Takei to discuss the issue.

Takei says Donald Trump would be an asset for gay marriage.)
“In terms of my father's political
views in the grand scheme of things there's other things he'd be
concerned about first, given the state of the world and our economy,”
Trump Jr. said. “I think part of it, and perhaps the shame of
being a conservative, is you almost have to have those kind of
stances to win any kind of primary. And then you have to sell out
and become a moderate in the middle just like you have to do if
you're on the liberal side of the political spectrum.”
